Abstract

The study examines the element of dialogue as one of the components of narrative and poetic performance in Arabic literature, both classical and modern. The simplest definition of dialogue is the exchange of speech between two or more individuals. The research aims to highlight the relationship between dialogue, character, and event, as well as its interaction with narration and the stylistic features of Arabic speech in fulfilling its artistic purposes.

The study introduces the terms “dialogic unit” and “dialogic segment,” and offers a new perspective on the concepts of direct and indirect dialogue. One of its objectives is to shed light on the distinctive feminist poetic experience of the poet Lamia Abbas Amara, who holds a unique position among the poets of her time.
