Abstract

The research addressed the political participation of the Copts and their parliamentary representation during the period (1971-1991), as this period began during the era of President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, and their participation during that period was somewhat weak, compared to what came before and after it, due to President Anwar Sadat’s religious orientation, due to the circumstances surrounding him and the pressures that were exerted on him, but despite that, their participation and opinions played a major role in benefiting Egyptian society, and their influence was clear and their participation was effective at that time.

As for the era of President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, the Coptic representatives had a good participation in the Egyptian parliament, as they were more fortunate than their participation during the era of his predecessor Anwar Sadat, so we see their efforts and participation more clearly, and through this research we have shown that participation and its impact on Egyptian society.
