Abstract

The feed industry is considered one of the important manufacturing industries aimed at utilizing raw materials with high nutritional value —such as oilseeds and oily substances—and converting them into new forms or materials that are more suitable for livestock. This industry has a significant impact on animal production and is a technical field that must meet the full nutritional requirements of animals. In doing so, it contributes to the development of the livestock sector (including ruminants, poultry, and fish), which helps achieve self-sufficiency in food within the province, particularly in meat and milk. The feed industry relies on both locally produced materials, such as grains, and imported materials, such as soybeans. There are 65 small-scale factories distributed across the administrative units of the province. However, this industry faces several obstacles and challenges that have negatively affected it, including difficulties in obtaining raw materials, lack of government support, and energy shortages. These issues prompted the selection of this research in order to develop future plans to support and expand this industry, making it a more influential factor in the province’s economic life.
