Abstract

Mustafa Jawad, a scholar, was an accomplished calligrapher, one of many artistic and creative pursuits within Islamic civilization. Writing, researching, and studying this art form for the purpose of laying fresh scientific groundwork for it occupied a large portion of his scientific and practical life. Among academics of his day and his contemporaries, he stood out for his distinctive civilizational logic in this field.
