Abstract

The present study seeks to ascertain the self's capacity for social confrontation and coping among educational counsellors, examine the significance of gender differences (male-female) among these counsellors, and explore the correlation between the self's ability to confront and social coping within this group. To fulfill the study goals, the Self-Resistance Capacity Scale (E.R.S.89) developed by Block, translated into Arabic and standardized for the Iraqi context, was used with a sample of educational counsellors, as established by Ghani in 2010, alongside the construction of the social coping scale. The two standards were implemented on a research sample of 250 male and female counsellors. After analyzing the data with suitable statistical methods, the results indicated the following: - Educational counsellors possess a commendable level of personal confrontation ability. - The sample of educational counsellors exhibits social harmony.


- Statistically significant disparities exist in the self's capacity to confront based on gender, favouring men.


 - No statistically significant variations in social coping exist among educational counsellors based on gender (males vs. females).


- A favourable, direct association exists between the self's capacity for confrontation and social coping among educational counsellors.


 The researcher provided some recommendations and suggestions.
