Abstract

The goal of the current research is to identify the level of academic determination and reveal the effectiveness of the educational program based on Attuckson’s theory in developing academic determination among middle school students. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher adopted an experimental design with equal experimental and control groups according to the pre- and post-tests, and the research sample was chosen in a manner It was randomly assigned (120) male and female students, (60) for the experimental group, and (60) male and female students for the control group. The researcher conducted the process of equivalence between the groups. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher built an academic determination scale, which consisted of (44) items in its final form and (3) Areas: The answer alternatives were (4) alternatives. The researcher verified the apparent and constructive validity of the tool. The reliability of the tool was also verified by two methods: the first was retesting, and its reliability coefficient reached (0.89), which is high reliability. The second was the Cronbach’s Alpha internal consistency method, which reached a reliability coefficient of (0.84), which is a good indicator for the scale. The researcher also built an educational program in Developing academic resolve consists of (16) lessons. The apparent validity of the program was extracted and it obtained an agreement rate of (90%) or more. The data was treated statistically using (Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test for two independent samples, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, chi-square, t-test for two independent samples). One, t-test for two correlated samples) showed the results. In light of the results, the researcher reached a number of conclusions, a number of recommendations were made, and the researcher presented a number of proposals.
