Terminology and its Role in Consolidating Cognitive Awareness

Abstract
The research articulates the definition of terminology linguistically and idiomatically and thus tackles the most important pillars of the term, its elements, its conditions, and its functions. The study also reviews the characteristics of terminology, paying a considerable attention to the emergence of this science and how it has been highlighted in the past by Arab’s heritage as well as by the modern era. In addition, the study highlights the most important international linguistic terminological institutions and their role in paying attention to scientific terminology, and keeping pace with global development at all levels and in all sciences.
The research also deals with the importance of terminology and its role in building and consolidating cognitive awareness, especially in linguistic development, based on the role of terminology in the Arabization of education, in scientific authorship, lexical industry and translation, and at the level of the state and international relation The manifestations of the term’s development are highlighted through the social dimension, the semantic dimension and the technical dimension, as well as the problematic dimension of the term in scientific research .
