Abstract

The history of states and peoples was written by the leaders of those countries and the efforts they exerted to change the reality of their countries and peoples. Therefore, this research sheds light on the efforts made by Sheikh Abdullah bin Qasim Al Thani in the political and economic history of Qatar, and his success in getting out of the Ottoman dependency and relying on the British to establish The Emirate of Qatar is led by Al Thani. During his rule, which exceeded more than three and a half decades, he was able to establish some important economic projects for his country, such as the airport and ports, and to contract with foreign companies to explore for oil. He also established good political relations with the surrounding Arab countries and near the Qatar Peninsula. It gets rid of the dangers close to the borders of his country.
