Functional efficiency of health services in Hawija district for the year 2019
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research deals with the study of the functional efficiency of health services in Hawija district, through which it appeared that the district suffers from a small number and poor spatial distribution.
Many scientific methods have been used based on the field study, which included health institutions, statistics departments, the Urban Planning Directorate and the municipality of Hawija district, which contributed to building a geographical database. Much of this data was transformed into a number of maps that were contained in the body of this thesis using geographic information systems (ARC GIS10 ،5), which is characterized by its high ability to analyze spatial data, and the functional efficiency of health services was measured using a number of indicators and local planning standards,
The study indicates that the health services in the study area suffer from a significant decline in their level, due to the spatial and functional disparity of the health institutions, as we notice the lack of every administrative unit to a general hospital, a shortage in the number of health centers and a large shortage of medical and health personnel cadres such as doctors, dentists, pharmacists and Health professionals, as well as modern equipment and emergency ambulances.
The study suggested to the responsible authorities in the Kirkuk Health Department and Hawija sectors 1 and 2 to develop a plan in coordination with the responsible authorities to improve the health and medical cadres in the Hawija district in general.
