Abstract

The present research showed that the highest rate of family size  in 2021is (8.1) individuals were recorded in AL-mutasim sub – district, while the lowest rate was recorded in the Tigris sub-district, which was (4.1) individuals. By 2030, the average family size will be decreased to (6) people at the level of the governorate as a whole. The highest rate was recorded in AL-Mutasim sub-district, (7.1) individuals, and the lowest rate was recorded in the Tigris sub-district, which was (4.1) individuals and due to the economic, social and demographic factors that affect the average family size in urban areas of the governorate led to the tendency of family size towards miniaturization. The difference between the base year and the target year is (1) individual.

- Future projections for family size were extracted according to the equation (l = a + (n - 1) d), where l = population size in the subsequent census, a = population size in the first census, n = number of years (including the year of the first census), d = the fixed amount of population increase (the basis of the numerical sequence).
