The Impact of the V.A.R.K Model on Academic Achievement and the Development of Reflective Thinking among History Learners
Main Article Content
Abstract
The study aims to identify (V.A.R.K model) and its impact on academic and scientific achievement and the development of reflective thinking among history learners. The study achieved its goal through the two zero hypotheses: 1- There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05). Between the average academic achievement of the experimental group learners who study according to the V.A.R.K model, and the average academic achievement of the control group learners who studied the same subject in the traditional way, 2- There are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) for the development of reflective thinking among the experimental group learners who They study according to the V.A.R.K model, and control group learners who study the same subject in the usual traditional way. In order to ascertain the aim of the study, its hypotheses, and its results, the researcher took the experimental study method and the experimental approach, in addition to a set of procedures starting with the experimental design of the experimental and control study groups, and then conducting equivalence between them in terms of chronological age calculated in months, academic achievement for the past year, and academic achievement for parents .., The research community and its sample were selected from the first intermediate grade learners in Al-Huda Secondary School for Girls in Salah Al-Din Governorate, for the academic year (2022-2023 AD), where Division (A) was chosen as a control group that studies history in the usual traditional way, and Division (B) It represents the experimental group that will be taught according to the V.A.R.K model, where the study sample consisted of (74) learners divided equally into the two groups. The researcher used two tools to test the post-results, namely: the academic achievement test and the reflective thinking test using: (Coder-Richardson equation 20) and (alpha-Cronbach equation) and a set of statistical tools. The experiment began on 10/11/2022 and ended on 12/1/2022. The results showed that there is a positive effect in raising the achievement level and developing reflective thinking in the research sample when applying the FARC model in the learning process.
