Abstract

The study of the contemporary history of Turkey is of great importance, due to the weight that Turkey represents in the Middle East region, in various political, economic and strategic fields, as well as its political experience, and the developments that took place during its march and its transition from a one-party system of government to a system based on multiple parties. Which embodied an important transition to democratic political participation, and that was not a coincidence, but many factors contributed to the occurrence of that development, which played a decisive role in Turkey's transition to the state of democracy and political pluralism.

The research sheds light on partisan pluralism in Turkey, as Turkey witnessed, after the end of World War II 1939-1945, an important development represented by the adoption of partisan pluralism, which came in line with the international conditions that occurred after World War II, as the totalitarian regimes emerged defeated in that war after If the democratic regimes achieved a great victory, and in line with those circumstances, Turkey found that it was in its interest to adapt to those circumstances and adopt the democratic approach.

The research reached a number of important results, foremost of which is that Turkey's need for Western support and assistance to get out of the economic crisis, which Turkey witnessed during and after World War II, was one of the important factors that paved the way for Turkey's adoption of the multi-party system.
