Abstract
It is not hidden from the students the importance of the personality in the art of fiction, due to its close relationship with all the elements of the novel, and Henry James confirmed the relationship of the two elements, the incident and the personality, as he asked whether the personality is the definition of the incident, and whether the incident is nothing but clarifying the personality.The novel, when he said, "If the incident is the core of the story, then the character is the core of the incident." In fact, "most critics considered the character as the most important element of the narrative art, while the old critics tended to prefer the plot or knot over the character." Personality prevailed in The modern story, and became one of its success factors because "the ability to invent accidents and fabricate situations is not measured by the ability to introspect Personal".
The novelist Abd al-Rahman Munif was able to explore the inner parts of the character in the novel
