الملخص
الشخصية في رواية (النهايات) لعبد الرحمن منيف إذ لا يخفى على القارىء أهمية الشخصية في فن الرواية لما لها من علاقة وثيقة مع جميع عناصر الرواية ، وأكد هنري جيمس علاقة العنصرين ، الحادث والشخصية ، حيث سأل هل الشخصية هي التعريف بالواقعة ، وهل الواقعة ليست سوى توضيح للشخصية رواية عندما قال: "إذا كان الحادث هو جوهر القصة ، فإن الشخصية هي جوهر "في الواقع" اعتبر معظم النقاد الشخصية أهم عنصر في فن السرد ، بينما كان النقاد القدامى يميلون إلى تفضيل الحبكة أو العقدة على الشخصية التي سادت في القصة الحديثة ، وأصبحت أحدى عوامل نجاحها بسبب "القدرة على الاختراع الحوادث وتلفيق المواقف لا تقاس بالقدرة على التأمل الشخصي ". تمكن الروائي عبد الرحمن منيف من استكشاف الأجزاء الداخلية للشخصية في الرواية
