Abstract

This study deals with Anastrophe in Fadil Salih al-Samarra'i’s book 'Meanings of Grammar' in the light of the generative transformational approach. It is briefly concerned with the transformational approach and the phenomenon of Anastrophe. Then it deals with the examples which include Anastrophe in the context of affirmation, negation and interrogation. Since this phenomenon has purposes and indications in the structural elements in each context, so this study try to display these phenomena in al-Samarra'i’s book and how they are represented in different contexts according to the external positions to determine the changes in surface and external level and the deep semantic level under transformative rules.
