"Transposition and inversion in the 'Dalail al-Ijaz' by Abd al-Qahir al-jurjani (471 AH) "
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study discusses conversion through inversion in Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani’s book Dala’il al-I’jaz in light of the generative transformational approach. It briefly addresses the transformational approach and the phenomena of inversion. The study then examines examples that include conversion through inversion in the styles of affirmation, negation, and interrogation. Given that this phenomenon influences the structural elements in various styles or contexts, the study aims to illustrate how Al-Jurjani addresses these phenomena and how they are applied in different styles and contexts, depending on the requirements of conditions, circumstances, situations, and external factors. The goal is to explore the changes that occur at both the superficial and deep semantic levels according to transformational rules.
