Abstract

The poetic image, in the light of modern critical studies, is one of the most prominent and most important elements of poetic formation, accompanied by poetic language and poetic rhythm. The poetic image is to be straight and achieve its purpose in the receiving society. Also, it is the essential poetic formation that includes within its details the poetic language and poetic rhythm in a way that contributes to building the text in its final form.
Critics were able, in their deep studies of the poetic image, to discover a set of patterns expressing the great diversity, according to the experience of each poet in every time and place. The poetic image in its general perspective is ((a linguistic structure to depict an imaginary mental and emotional meaning of a relationship between two things. It is based on a wide range of sources and performs important artistic and aesthetic functions on the basis of which the success of the poetic experience depends, and in its relationship to the poetic experience of the poet.
In addition, the poetic image can be viewed as a drawing with words that comes charged with a high degree of emotion, feeling and conscience as well as vision and attitude. It makes the image an original element of the formation that cannot be neglected or underestimated the strength of its presence. So, it is the most prominent element that carries the characteristic of formation and expression at the same time. The poetic image in its compositional perspective combines mechanism and emotion together.
