Abstract

The civil wars phenomenon is one of the most dangerous phenomena witnessed by the African continent since independence until the present time, due to what these wars have caused of  killing hundreds of thousands of people and the displacement of millions of them as refugees, and the destruction of social and economic infrastructure, and even reached the point of the collapse of states and the emergence of African axes supporting this or that party, in addition to the international interference that these wars resulted in, directly or indirectly.  This and other reasons made the African continent one of the poorest and most turbulent in the world. there were a number of civil wars that continued from the period of the Cold War until after (Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo), other wars that broke out during the Cold War period and then ceased (Nigeria, Mozambique, Chad), and third wars that broke out in the post-term period Cold War (Somalia, Liberia, Sierra Leone). The problem of civil wars arises primarily from conflicts that may be ethnic, sectarian, class, etc., and may be a reflection of various external factors.
