Abstract

The encroachment itself was not a new phenomenon in the history of South Africa from the late seventeenth century until the early twentieth century, but it was part of the gradual expansion across the borders, and the encroachment was different from the previous migrations or movements, and this encroachment differs in its quality and size from the expansion that It was witnessed by the previous two centuries, for the great march represented an emigration in large numbers, as it was organized and led, and that the creepers who moved in 1835, did not intend and did not wish to return to the Cape colony, they were hoping to establish a new homeland, where they would be able to conduct affairs Their lives were led by them, away from the domination of the British administration in South Africa, that this migration was behind various factors, so its facts and effects were very complex.
