الملخص
ارتبط مفهوم العلاقات الدولية بظهور الدول، إلا أنها لم تكن على درجة من التنظيم ومع تطور العلاقات الدولية واتساع رقعة التواصل بين الدول ظهرت الحاجة الى وجود ممثلين دبلوماسيين وسفراء واعتمادهم بصورة دائمية الى الحد الذي اصبح فيه التمثيل الدبلوماسي اهم مقومات العلاقات الدولية، ومن خلال وسائل الدبلوماسية تستطيع الدول تدعيم مكانتها الدولية وتقوي نفوذها اقليميا ودوليا ، ولقد كانت الدبلوماسية في بدء نشأتها بسيطة وتقليدية، الا انه بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية واجهت تغييرا جذريا لاسيما مع ظهور موضوعات حديثة على الساحة الدولية كإقامة علاقات سياسية واقتصادية مما جعل عمل الدبلوماسي اكثر توسعا وتعقيدا واستوجب اقامة نظام متكامل للتمثيل الدبلوماسي
يتناول البحث موضوع التمثيل الدبلوماسي في المملكة منذ نشوء الدبلوماسية والى نهاية عهد الملك عبد العزيز بن عبد الرحمن آل سعود(1953) مع التطرق على مفهوم الدبلوماسية ومراحل نشوء التمثيل الدبلوماسي في المملكة منذ تخصيص الشعبة السياسية لإدارة الشؤون الخارجية الى تطورها لمديرية العامة لشؤون الخارجية واخيرا تحولها الى وزارة الخارجية المستقلة لتنظيم وادارة العلاقات الخارجية ، وتم الاعتماد في البحث على مجموعة من مصادر لمؤلفين عملوا في المجال الدبلوماسي بصفة رسمية مما اضافوا الحقائق والتفاصيل على نشوء وتطور التمثيل الدبلوماسي في المملكة .
