قيام الوحدة اليمنية 1985-1990

الملخص
على الرغم من تقاسم الحكم في المدد التاريخية بين أكثر من دولة، إلاّ أن هذه الدويلات لم تنجح في إرساء أي شكل من أشكال الانفصال، لأن الوحدة الجغرافية والتاريخية والاجتماعية والثقافية كانت أكثر قوة وصلابة ومتانة من النزعات الانفصالية الشاذّة والغريبة على اليمن وشعبه الواحد الموحد في مساره ومصيره منذ فجر التاريخ.
في الاتجاه الأخر شكلت حالات التجزئة والانشطار التي شابت اليمن في بعض المراحل التاريخية، ظاهرة استثنائية وعابرة، فرضتها ظروف استثنائية، وصنعتها إرادة غير يمنية، أي أنها لم تكن في يوم من الأيام أمراً طبيعياً بل ظاهرة غريبة ودخيلة على اليمن وشعبه وتاريخه الوحدوي المشرق.
واستمرت المشاورات بين الحزبين الحاكمين في الشطرين، حيث بدأت على شكل اتفاقيات منذ عام 1985 حتى شهر أيار 1990، حيث توصلا إلى إقامة حكومة واحدة، في يمن وحد، إلى جانب السماح بقيام أحزاب أخرى، وهذا ما تحقق في 22 أيار 1990، بالتوقيع على إعلان قيام الوحدة الاندماجية بين الشطرين، حيث فاجأ علي سالم البيض ، الأمين العام للحزب الاشتراكي، القيادات الأخرى في الحزب، بالموافقة على الوحدة الاندماجية.
