Parental Abuse as Perceived by Children and Its Relation to Self - Compassion of Preparatory school students

Abstract
The research aimed to identify the level of parental abuse as perceived by the children from their parents (father / mother) and the particular compassion of middle school students, and to identify the differences in the level of parental abuse as perceived by the children and compassion in particular according to gender (male / female)), and knowledge of the relationship between parental abuse as recognized by the children and self-compassion in particular. A random sample was selected of (452) students in the fifth grade preparatory, and the researchers prepared the measure of abuse Parent and two copies of the father / mother, as prepared the validity of the self- compassion was verified, and the validity of the research tools was verified by presenting them to the experts. The discriminating force and the stability were calculated by means of retesting and alpha-Cronbach. The data were statistically treated using the SPSS. The results showed that the students were subjected to parental abuse by the father and that they were not subjected to parental abuse by the mother. There was a statistically significant difference in the level of parental abuse by the father according to the sex variable and for males. Also, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the level of self-compassion according to the sex variable for females. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the level of parental abuse according to gender variable. Correlation is statistically significant between parental abuse by (father / mother) and self-compassion.
