Abstract
The artificial lakes resulting from the construction of dams in western Iraq and those naturally located on the paths of their basins are unique geographical phenomena that together constitute a distinct geographical region, this research aims to present the developmental geographic components of fish resources in those lakes, as a field study was conducted for (5) lakes, two of them are artificial lakes they are the Mosul Dam Lake, which is located on the Tigris River, north of the city of Mosul by (40) km, and the second is a modern lake located on the Euphrates River, north of the city of Haditha (8) km in Anbar Governorate, as well as three natural lakes are: Lake Tharthar west of the Samarra district and the Habbaniyah and Razzaza lakes southwest of the city of Fallujah
