Abstract

The current research aims to identify the following:
1- the level of psychological security of Kirkuk University students.
2- 2-Differences in psychological security according to the gender.
3- The differences in psychological security varies according to the variable of specialization (scientific - humanitarian).
4- The level of self-confidence of Kirkuk University students.
5- Differences in self-confidence according to the gender variable (male - female).
6- The differences in self-confidence according to the variable of specialization (scientific - humanitarian).
7- The correlation between psychological security and self-confidence among Kirkuk University students.
Stability and discriminatory of power were applied to the basic research sample, which was randomly selected. The sample consisted of (300) male and female students. The statistical methods were used (chi-square, T-value for one sample and two independent samples, and Pearson correlation coefficient). The research reached the following results: University students enjoy a high level of psychological security. The absence of statistically significant differences in the level of psychological security of university students according to the gender variable (male - female). The absence of statistically significant differences in the level of psychological security of university students according to the variable of the type of study (scientific - humanities). University students enjoy a high level of self-confidence. There are statistically significant differences in the level of self-confidence of university students according to the gender variable (male-female) in favor of males. The existence of statistically significant differences in the level of self-confidence of university students according to the variable of type of study (scientific - humanities) in favor of scientific specialization. The existence of a positive correlation relationship between psychological security and self-confidence among university students. In the light of the results, the researcher has put together a set of recommendations and proposals.
