The Contribution of Agents in the Commercial Side
Main Article Content
Abstract
The importance of studying this topic lies in the fact that it sheds light on an important and wide aspect of economic transactions (agency) during an era that exceeds six centuries, starting from the era of early Islam through the Rashidi and Umayyad era and ending with the end of the Abbasid era.
This form of economic dealings is the agency that is intended to delegate the matter to others for the purpose of doing it, and in terminology it means the establishment of a person to whom he authorizes to act in his name in the commercial business, as trust, skill, and sufficiency have been achieved in the agent, and the agent is incapable or busy managing his economic work or Commercial, agricultural or industrial by himself.
This type of work on the behalf of the owner of money or trade has been associated, usually during the ages upon which the study is based, with a certain sect or sects of people whose political conditions, social status, or public obligations prevent them from carrying out the burdens of their work themselves, so the sources reserve mentioning dozens of personalities whom I knew about. Their appointments are to agents in the Islamic world who manage their trade and manage their economic affairs on their behalf. Therefore, the most famous social classes who have appointed agents to manage their business were caliphs, governors, or leaders whose preoccupation with the affairs of their subjects or their subordinates prevents them from carrying out the burdens of commercial work and doing it in an optimal manner that requires dedication. To him and stick to him.
The role of women in the ages of this study is also evident as the entrusting of those who carry out commercial work by proxy and authorization, because this work often requires travel and travel, and this is what was not available for women in those ages because it contradicts the nature of the Islamic society and its traditions and customs in this field.
