Abstract

The land of Iraq occupies a significant place in global attention due to its rich natural resources. However, this is not the only reason it has attracted people around the world; many have been captivated by its unmatched civilizational heritage. Iraq is a cradle of civilization in every sense, a land over which nations and cultures have struggled throughout history, leaving behind an immense number of archaeological sites that stand as enduring evidence of its antiquity and the remarkable level of progress it achieved. Some Iraqi cities have attained a status rarely matched by others worldwide, including the holy city of Karbala, which is considered one of the most historically and culturally important cities. It hosts numerous prominent archaeological and heritage sites dating back to ancient times, among them Khan al Nakhila, an impressive monument and a masterpiece of Islamic architecture that reflects elegance, ingenuity, and refined artistic expression.
