Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of leadership and its relationship to emotional intelligence among intermediate school principals in Iraq from the teachers' point of view. The researcher used the descriptive and analytical approach in order to achieve the research objectives. Two questionnaires were used in the study. One was used to measure the level of effectiveness of leadership, and the other was used to measure the level of emotional intelligence. The research sample consisted of 201 male and female teachers. The data from the two questionnaires were analyzed to obtain the results using a statistical analysis program (spss). As for the statistical treatments, certain tools were used, including the percentage, the relative weight, the Cronbach test, the Pearson correlation coefficient and the T-test.  The research has reached several results. One of these results is that the sample members showed agreement to a large degree with  a relative weight %79.4 on the level of effectiveness of leadership among intermediate school principals in Iraq from the teachers' point of view. The sample members showed agreement to a large degree with a relative weight %77.3 on the level of emotional intelligence of middle school principals in Iraq from the teachers' point of view. The existence of a positive correlation between the averages of the study sample responses to the level of effectiveness of leadership among middle school principals in Iraq from the teachers' point of view and their responses to their emotional intelligence level                            there are no statistic differences at a significance level due to the difference of gender, qualification, and experience.
