Possibility of water harvesting for Wadi Al-Assam Basin using the fuzzy logic model
Main Article Content
Abstract
In recent years, many new technologies have emerged that have helped to obtain information on the initial identification of the most suitable sites according to specific and precise criteria, such as remote sensing techniques, GIS and hydrological modeling. Using Fuzzy logic modeling, Identification of important information in the identification and selection of sites for payment and topography and sites of the spread of valleys in the study area, This model is used to unify the layers and make them all in the same unit. Seven different types of criteria have been used in this study to select potential water harvesting sites such as (%), wadis, rain (mm), soils ), Distance from the road, distance from the settlement centers, and the percentage of vegetation cover).
The study also identified 10 sites where the dams can be constructed depending on the hydrological and topographic characteristics of the dams, and the amount of water storage for each proposed dam site and each elevation of the dam was estimated.
