Features of cultural identity in school theater performances

Abstract
The current research is divided into four sections. The first section addressed the methodological framework and included the research problem, represented by the question: "What are the features of cultural identity in school theater performances?" The research objectives, defined by the researchers as "identifying the features of cultural identity in school theater performances," and the research limits, defined by the period (2015-2025). The research also includes the research terms, defined by the researchers as "cultural identity" and "school theater." The second section is devoted to the theoretical framework, which was divided into two sections: the first, "Features of Cultural Identity," and the second, "School Theater." The section is concluded with indicators of the theoretical framework. While the third section is devoted to the research procedures and included the research methodology, as the descriptive analytical method was used, through selecting the research community which consisted of (5) theatrical performances, from which one theatrical performance was chosen, which is (the play Gilgamesh Who Saw), and after designing the research tool based on the indicators of the theoretical framework, and obtaining the validity of the tool from the group of experts numbering (9) experts, the reliability of the tool was also obtained, at a rate of (87.33%), and thus the tool became ready for application. While the fourth section is devoted to the results and conclusions, the researchers came up with a number of results, the most prominent of which are: The analysis showed the highest percentage of identity elements, after (14) repetitions, with a weighted average of (2.76) and a relative weight of (92.06%), as they were distributed as in the sub-axes and paragraphs in descending order, starting from (historical identity with its branches, heritage, customs, and psychological identity with its branches, joy, and sadness), which obtained first place, with a weighted average of (3) and a relative weight of (100%), which indicates that the paragraphs had an effective presence in the first research sample, then followed in second place (historical identity with its branches, religion) with a weighted average of (2.85) and a relative weight of (95.23), which indicates a large percentage of its appearance in the theatrical presentation, then followed in third and last place (material identity) with a weighted average of (1.71) and a relative weight of (57.14%), which indicates that its presence in the theatrical presentation is acceptable. The study also reached a number of conclusions, most notably that the presence of cultural identity can be reflected differently within school theater performances, contributing to instilling the spirit of societal cultures in learners through various methods and approaches. The study concluded with recommendations, suggestions, and a list of sources.
