Main Article Content
Abstract
The current research aims to identify emotional knowledge among secondary school students and examine statistically significant differences in emotional knowledge based on gender (male – female), academic track (scientific – literary),and grade level (fourth – fifth). To achieve the research objectives, the researcher developed a scale to measure emotional knowledge. The initial version of the scale consisted of 33 situational items, each with three response options. The researcher established the psychometric properties of the scale, including validity and reliability. The research tool was applied to a sample of 300 secondary school students, selected using a stratified random sampling method. The sample included both male and female students from scientific and literary academic tracks in the fourth and fifth grades during the 2024–2025 academic year in Kirkuk governorate. The statistical methods used in the study included Chi-square, Pearson correlation coefficient, Cronbach’s alpha equation and t-tests for one and two independent samples. The findings revealed that secondary school students possess emotional knowledge. Additionally, no significant differences were found in emotional knowledge based on gender (male – female) or academic track (scientific –literary However, significant differences were observed based on grade level favoring fifth-grade students.
