Abstract

Research objective lies in the task of reaching a proposed vision for developing the roles of faculty members in Yemeni public universities in light of the requirements of knowledge economy by identifying the degree of availability and importance of the requirements in developing the performance of faculty members in their roles in the fields of scientific research, community partnership, training courses, and providing consultations according to the requirements of knowledge economy.


The research methodology is the descriptive survey and developmental method. The questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting data, and the appropriate statistical and inferential methods were relied upon to analyze their answers using the statistical analysis program (SPSS).


The research concludes that the availability of requirements in the reality of the performance of faculty members in Yemeni public universities in light of the requirements of knowledge economy in the four fields is generally weak. As for the degree of importance of the availability of requirements, it was rated (very high). A number of recommendations were presented. The proposed vision was formulated according to the following stages:


1- Planning and preparation stage.                    


2- The implementation stage includes:


A- Spreading the culture of knowledge economy.        


 B - Activating the roles of faculty members.


 3- Follow-up and evaluation stage.
