Main Article Content
Abstract
Cognitive and perceptive curiosity is a path to discovery, innovation, and progress of nations and societies. It is a motivation and a strong and urgent emotional desire that reaches the point of passion to get knowledge of the truth and understand the many phenomena that occur in the universe. It is a means of searching for causes and explanations that remove the ambiguity of multiple aspects of existence. Without curiosity, man would not have discovered electricity, man would not have reached other planets, and we would not have learned anything about our world. Therefore, the aim of the current research is to identify the effectiveness of a proposed strategy according to logical intelligence in developing cognitive curiosity among Tikrit University students for the academic year 2023. The study sample consisted of (100) students in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Tikrit University, who were chosen purposively, and were randomly distributed into two groups: an experimental and a control group.
The researcher built a strategy consisting of five steps according to the skills of logical intelligence, in addition to building a measure of cognitive curiosity consisting of (60) items that extracted its validity and stability by presenting it to experts and specialists. The researcher used appropriate statistical methods to extract the results of her study and reached a set of conclusions, proposals and recommendations.
