Abstract

This study deals with the employment of religious beliefs, and it is specific to the Arabian Peninsula before Islam. In addition, this study deals with the origins and roots of religious beliefs. This study was distinguished by knowing the origins of gods, planets, celestial bodies, idols and statues in the cities of Hijaz and the roots of the transfer of the origins of these idols to Mecca, Taif and Yathrib. The research studies the most important points of similarity between the most important origins and roots of Mesopotamian myths and the origins of religious beliefs and gods in the Arabian Peninsula, with a statement of the difference in the names of the gods, including the stars and planets whose worship had been transferred to the Arabian Peninsula. And the difference in its names in the civilization of Mesopotamia
