Quranic readings of the movement of the letter meem in morphological structures
Main Article Content
Abstract
The research, in its entirety, examines the Quranic readings of the vowel "mīm." Quranic readings of the letter "mīm" have varied in morphological structure, ranging from two- to three-letter forms. This diversity stems from the differences in Arabic languages, on the one hand, and from the semantic intent, on the other.
Most of the evidence cited by the researcher falls under the category of "mutawatir" (consecutive) readings, and rarely mentions anomalous readings in this context. The research can be summarized in two main sections. The first is theoretical, which includes the introduction to the study, the methodology used, and the most prominent previous studies. It then addresses the science of readings in a simplified introductory overview. The second section is applied, in which the researcher examines the evidence found in traditional reading books, including examples of the various vowel sounds of the letter "mīm" (mīm), including fatḥa, kasra, ḍammah, shaddah, and ṭafā, as explained in the research.
The research concludes with the most prominent findings, with the conclusion that the extra "mīm" (mīm) is the most frequently cited example. Because it is present in the structure of the meter designated for the cases of the verbal noun with the letter mīm and the form, and the names of time and place. The plural mīm is rarely present in the readings because it is originally ḍammah.
