Abstract

         Regular agricultural is one of the methods of sustainable development of natural resources that raises the economic and social level and leads society towards a more efficient life for investment and in the long term. In this research, the researcher reached the natural characteristics of the region by highlighting the geographical location. The study area is located between the lines of longitude ("0,'12,42°) (53", 81, ﮿44) east and latitude (50,22,37°) (17,10,﮿36) north with an area of (10956) Km2. It consists of seven districts, the canter of which is the city of Dohuk. It was found that the region has diverse climatic characteristics and that growing season is throughout the year due to the diversity of temperatures and increase in rainfall rates. It was found that winter cereal crops ranked first in terms. The soil is characterized by organic matter in a percentage ranging between ( 0, 92 -  4 , 98 %) at a rate 2.95 % in the study area . Exploiting land for agricultural is one of the methods used to sustain natural resources in the study area and increase revenues from agricultural production and it is used as a raw material in several industries.
