Physical and Chemical Properties of the Water of the Euphrates River Shanafiya and Samawa Section and Its Impact on Agricultural Production
Main Article Content
Abstract
Studying the agricultural reality is important. The agricultural reality in the Middle Euphrates region may be of great importance because it is surrounded by rapid population growth, so the research reveals that the study of the Euphrates River basin between Al-Shanifiyah and Al-Samawah by examining the quantitative characteristics related to the chemical and physical characteristics and their relationship to agricultural production.
The results of the research revealed that the Euphrates River water suffe from high salinity within the river section between AlShanifiyah and Samawah, and an increase in the concentration of dissolved ions causing salinity in the Euphrates River water was found without treatment with an increase in the river slope.
The Euphrates River water is considered to have severe and increasing problems for some water characteristics according to the classification of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
