Abstract

The very short story is a narrative style that has been very popular in recent years, so that many of its advocates have become to describe it as a new narrative literary genre, and its models have multiplied until they exceed the traditional model of the short story, and it somehow represents the new space for storytelling, and many critics and scholars have gone in the field of Narration towards research in this new model (the very short story), seeking to establish controls, foundations, and traditions that govern its narrative form. The experience of the storyteller and poet Hakim Al-Dawwi is a distinguished experience in terms of forming the very short story in his collection of short stories titled (They inhabited my soul).This applied study of selected models from the group's stories attempts to shed critical light on the most important characteristics of this experience, including the specificity it entails at the level of composition and expression, at the level of heading and textual content, and at the level of style and aesthetics of expression.
