Reasons for the phenomenon of cheating among middle school students from the point of view of students and teachers for the academic year 2021/2022

Abstract
This study aimed to find out the causes of the phenomenon of cheating from the point of view of students of the preparatory stage and teachers in the province of Baghdad - Rusafa II. The sample consisted of (300) male and female students and (100) male and female teachers. In 2002, the researcher used (T-test for two independent samples and the alternatives were (5,4,3,2,1) and the number of items (40) for students, and the researcher used ((T-test for two independent samples and the sample size was (100) and the alternatives were (Yes, No) and the number of paragraphs (14). To find out the results for the first objective, (the weighted mean and the corresponding weight were used as statistical means), meaning that each paragraph got a weighted mean greater than (3) which is considered a problem or a reason for cheating among students and with regard to the goal The second is it"There are no statistically significant differences" for cheating according to the "male and female sex" variable. For the third goal, ""there are statistically significant differences" for cheating "depending on the specialization variable" ("scientific", "literary"), as it was found that literary specialization is more inclined For cheating, and with regard to the fourth objective, the researcher used the weighted mean and the corresponding weight as statistical means, and used the mean of the alternatives (1, 0) and amounting to (0.50), meaning that each paragraph got a weighted mean greater than (50%) and a weighted percentage greater than (50) is considered a reason in cheating.
The study included recommendations, including:
- Qualify the educational counselor, train him, and involve him in developmental and training courses so that he is able to contain the students and relieve stress and fear of exams.
- Highlighting the dangers of cheating and its destructive effects, encouraging students and enhancing their self-confidence.
- Keep up with modern curricula based on comprehensiveness, diversity, objective, realistic, and constructive.
