Abstract

The researcher relied on the CN- method, which was developed by the US Department of Agriculture's Conservation Service (SCS) in 1970, and its famous version was prepared in 1986. The SCS method is a set of mathematical parameters that give information on land cover, land use method, soil hydrology, vegetation type, and rainfall amount in order to know the characteristics of water runoff and water harvesting potential in the Wadi Al-Deir basin, by knowing and analyzing the land cover description, identifying the types of soil hydrology in the area, and determining the pre-state of soil moisture. By knowing and analyzing the description of the land cover, knowing the description of the land cover, knowing the hydrological soil types in the area, knowing the hydrological soil types in the area, and determining the prior state of soil moisture, by knowing and analyzing the description of the land cover, knowing the hydrological soil types in the area, and determining the prior state of soil moisture, and by knowing and analyzing the description of the land cover, knowing the hydrological soil After completing these three elements, the values of (CN), which expresses the permeability of the soil, (s), which shows the maximum water retention capacity of the soil, (LA), which shows the amount of rainwater lost before runoff occurs, and (2) coefficients. The coefficients (s) and (sc), which express the depth and magnitude of the amount of runoff in the northern of Mosul .
