Emotional regulation and its relation to Self- Esteem in University Students

Abstract
The current study aims to know the relationship between emotional regulation and self-estimation in University students. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher has constructed a specific standard for the emotional regulation. After extracting the psychological features, the standard has become different whereas it consists of (47) items. Jaafer's model of self-estimation for (2007) has been taken as a model of the study where it comprises (36) items. It is important to make sure consistency and authenticity in the mentioned standard. The researcher has applied the two tools to the sample of the study which consists of (300) students male and female. This number is chosen randomly and they belong to Kirkuk University for the year 2016-2017. The study has concluded that there is a positive correlation between emotional regulation and self- estimation in university students. Finally, the researcher presented a set of suggestions and recommendations.
