Abstract

Cartography is an analytical approach used to understand and analyze spatial data, which is data that is related to geographical locations. Cartographic representation aims to explore geographical relationships and patterns in data, and interpret them to understand spatial phenomena and make decisions about them. Cartography uses a variety of statistical and geographic methods and techniques, such as GIS, geostatistical analysis, geographic modeling, and spatial visualization, to understand and interpret spatial data. Applications of cartographic representation include geographical distribution analysis, spatial relationships analysis, spatial pattern analysis, network analysis, and predictions. The study focused on (cartographic representation of population density in the city of Tikrit for the period 1997-2023) and geographical factors. The study focused on the classical and modern cartographic representation methods used in representing the phenomenon, the most important of which are (representation by points, divided circles, continuous cartograms, geometric cartograms, proportional circles, 3D, active corbilith, traditional corbilith, hieratic, conditional maps.
