Abstract

Chemical analyses of water are necessary and important in the study area because water is the basic factor for the existence of life on the surface of the Earth. On this basis, it has become necessary to detect and identify the chemical properties of water by conducting laboratory analysis of samples taken from the study area, and then arriving to a conclusion.  The most important elements of water and identifying their values that would negatively or positively affect the agricultural reality in the region through increasing or decreasing the concentrations of these elements. (10) samples of groundwater were taken so that they covered the region completely and evenly, in addition to a sample of river water, the Tigris. Laboratory analyses were conducted on it, and among these chemical analyzes conducted on the water included pH, electrical conductivity (EC), dissolved solids (TDS), hardness, turbidity, and it was achieved to know the suitability of the water.  Each province of the study area, to be exploited as required in all aspects of life, whether for agriculture, human use, or animal use. Through Table (1-1) the chemical properties of water were known, and from Table (1-2) the limits of ions were identified according to the international (WHO, 2006) and Iraqi (IRS-1996) standards, relying on Table (1-3) in the water quality were classified according to the value of (PH), and relying on Table (1-4) in the classification according to the American Water Salinity Laboratory.  Irrigation for the year 1954, as well as using the (Arc Map 10.3) program to draw maps of the region and represent the types of these analyses on the provinces of the study area and come up with a distinctive result for the study.
