Grammar Thinking Skills and their Relationship to the Levels of Cognitive Processing of Preparatory Stage Students

Abstract
The current research aims to identify: Grammar thinking skills and their relationship to the levels of cognitive processing among students of the preparatory stage. The number of members of this sample was (290) students, at a rate of (15%) of the total community, from the fourth preparatory grade in the schools affiliated to the General Directorate of Education in Diwaniyah (Diwaniyah District). Dagara and Sumer district) for the academic year (2021-2022). In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher prepared a test tool for the skills of grammatical thinking. The researcher, further, adopted a measure tool for the levels of cognitive processing levels of the researcher (Hussain, 2019). After extracting the psychometric properties of the two tools, the researcher applied them to the research sample, and used the appropriate statistical treatments for the research. The results of the first goal showed a difference between the average scores of the students of the research sample in the skills of grammatical thinking, it appeared that the research sample had the skills of grammatical thinking. The results of the second goal showed the availability of levels of cognitive processing among the students of the research sample in varying proportions. The percentage of availability of the surface level was (39%), the percentage of availability of the medium level (33%), and the percentage of availability of the deep level was (28%). As for the third goal, the results showed that there is a direct relationship between the grammatical thinking skills with each level of Levels of cognitive processing, which positively affect the percentage of individuals owning them. In light of the research results, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations, and suggested a number of suggestions.
