Abstract

Small industries have a prominent and important role as they help to develop and promote the reality of economic activity in any country. They represent the main pillar of any free economy in a sense that they help in improving and developing the national economy through their direct contribution to the national income.  In the examined area of the study, small industries are among the most prominent activities practiced by the residents of Shirqat, especially when this district has an agricultural nature, and most of its residents depend on small industries produced locally because of their cheap prices. Accordingly, small industries are the basis in the process of economic development in the study area which works to meet the basic needs of population.
