Sheikh Abd al-Rahman al- Darbroly and His Approach to Fatwa

Abstract
Jurisprudence has a great and important place in the Islamic religion, and it is one of the most honorable Islamic sciences. There are abundant texts in the Noble Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah that indicate the virtue of jurisprudence and understanding in religion. After the Islamic conquests and the spread of Islam in the east and west of the earth, there was no Islamic city that did not have scholars specialized in this subject. This paper consists of two sections, where the first topic is about aspects of Sheikh Abdul Rahman’s life, from his birth, his request for knowledge and the schools in which he studied, and the positions he took during his life from teaching in the room and the religious institute and from being the head of the Fatwa Committee. The second topic is about the curriculum followed by Sheikh Abdul Rahman in the fatwa, and we mentioned examples of his fatwas, applying the mentioned approach.
