Abstract

Women in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq face numerous challenges that hinder their economic, social, and political participation, including:

- Cultural and social factors: Conservative societies tend to restrict women's participation in work outside the home and politics.

- Economic factors: Women may be forced to stay at home to care for children, the elderly, or the sick.

- Educational factors: Women may not have equal educational opportunities as men, which can reduce their chances of obtaining jobs or leadership positions.

- Legal factors: Women may not enjoy equal rights with men in the workplace or politics, making it difficult for them to participate or maintain their participation.

A research study aimed to analyze women's participation in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with a focus on the challenges and opportunities they face. The study followed a methodology where data and statistics were collected from various sources, including the government and civil society organizations.

The results of the study indicated that women in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq still face many challenges that hinder their economic, social, and political participation. However, there are also some opportunities available to enhance women's participation in the region.
