Abstract

An important aspect of studying the emergence of unionist projects in Arab countries is to examine their history, growth, progress, and development. These projects have repeatedly fragmented the Arab world as Arab rulers have aspired for unity. This resulted in the division of the Arab world into several nations, each with its own defined boundaries and sovereignty. The Fertile Crescent Project, the Greater Syria Project, and the Arab League are the most significant of these initiatives.      Nuri al-Saeed is credited with the creation of the Fertile Crescent initiative, as he saw it as a suitable chance to bring together the Levant region and eventually unite it with Iraq. The Arab League proposal has reaffirmed its intention to combine the Arab nations under the leadership of one of Sharif Hussein's sons, an Arab figure. Regarding the Greater Syria Project, which was suggested The preliminary version of the idea was sent to Prince Abdullah, the Emir of Eastern Jordan, outlining the creation of a Syrian state within its original boundaries. Additionally, the proposal called for the formation of a centralized alliance to oversee defense, transportation, and economic matters, with Prince Abdullah assuming leadership of the initiative. Nevertheless, these initiatives were not executed, resulting in the continued fragmentation of the Arab world into separate nation-states, each with its own ruling authority and independent from one another.
