Climatic Genes of Changes in the Amount of Rain Falling on Iraq during the Twentieth Century
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study focuses on the analysis of recorded and projected climatic changes in Iraq, specifically in relation to precipitation. The time series data from the period of 1900-1999 is examined to identify and model changes in annual and seasonal rainfall totals in Iraq. Due to the lack of accurate rainfall records in Iraq, historical climate simulation databases are utilized as a source of information. It should be noted that while some stations may have irregularly recorded rainfall data for later years, such records are limited and available only at a few stations. The primary emphasis in the examination of climate variations in Iraq has been on the variable of precipitation and its prospective forecasts. This is due to its significant role as a climatic factor, directly influencing human existence and the interplay with other aspects of the climate system.
