Self-confidence of the Students of the Department of Special Education in the University of Duhok

Abstract
The researcher aimed to identify the level of self-confidence among the students of the College of Basic Education and Special Education as well as finding the statistically significant differences in the self-confidence of the students of special education according to the variables of gender and marital status. The comparative descriptive approach was used, and the study population reached (282) students. The sample reached (100) students. They were randomly selected from among the students studying in special education. The researcher relied on the scale prepared by (Al-Bayati-2006) to measure the level of self-confidence, which consists of (50) items, noting that the alternatives to answering the periods of the scale are in (always, sometimes, never), where the data received in the research were treated statistically using the t-test for one sample, and t for two independent samples, analysis of variance and Cronbach's alpha coefficient, through the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS).The results showed that the level of self-confidence among the research sample was at the average level, as well as the absence of statistically significant differences according to demographic variables (gender,), while there were statistically significant differences according to the demographic variable (marital status). It was in favor of married couples. In light of the results, the research presented some recommendations and proposals.
