The Response of the United Arab Emirates towards the Bosnia and Herzegovina Crisis 1992-1995

Abstract
The Bosnian war holds significant historical significance as one of the most protracted and perilous conflicts to occur on the European continent following the conclusion of World War II. This war was characterized by acts of genocide, ethnic cleansing, mass displacement of the population within the Bosnian republic, and severe violations of human rights. Since the establishment of an Islamic state in Europe, the issue of Bosnia and Herzegovina has gained significant importance for Europe. It has become one of its priorities, alongside its significance for the Islamic world. Efforts have been made at various levels to ensure the rights of individuals belonging to the same religious community and to find satisfactory solutions for all parties involved. The Islamic world, particularly the United Arab Emirates, has been deeply affected by the brutal crimes and genocides that have taken place. The United Arab Emirates, with its Islamic background and alliances in the Arab Gulf, has actively engaged in political, diplomatic, and economic efforts to bring an end to the war. This is evident through its protests to the United Nations and major world powers, as well as its utilization of diplomatic channels by severing political relations. Furthermore, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) significantly contributed to the humanitarian relief efforts for the Bosnian population by providing substantial financial assistance in the areas of healthcare, food security, and infrastructure development. This proactive stance adopted by the UAE had a notable and positive impact on the support extended to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
